Prince Harry’s return to the UK is anticipated as he gears up to mark the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games with a significant appearance at St Paul’s Cathedral in London on May 8. This marks his first major event attendance in the UK since stepping back from royal duties. However, like his previous visits, this one is expected to be solo, without Meghan Markle by his side.

Recent reports suggest a positive turn in King Charles’s recovery following his cancer diagnosis earlier this year. His public engagement at the University College Hospital Macmillan Centre indicates progress in his health, hinting at his gradual return to royal duties.

Speculation surrounds Prince Harry’s visit, with royal expert Ingrid Seward noting that King Charles desires a meeting with his son during his stay in the UK. However, this hinges on a strict condition: Harry’s choice of residence while in London.

Seward explains that if Harry opts for royal accommodation, he would benefit from the security provisions he seeks and could meet his father privately. Additionally, this arrangement would minimize the potential for Harry to utilize the meeting as a PR opportunity. With King Charles’s busy schedule, including engagements at Buckingham Palace and meetings with the Prime Minister, he seeks a convenient and private setting to reconnect with his son.

During his previous visit, Harry’s temporary lodging in hotels highlighted his lack of a stable residence in the UK. This time, the duration of his stay may extend, especially considering Prince Archie’s upcoming 5th birthday. Seward emphasizes the significance of Harry’s presence for such family milestones, indicating a longer stay than before.

Following his UK visit, Prince Harry will be joined by Meghan Markle as they embark on an official visit to Nigeria, invited by the country’s Chief of Defence Staff.
